5 Non-Fiction Book Recommendations

My top 5 recommendations for non-fiction reads!

The majority of the books I've read are fiction books, and I feel like in the book community there are so many excellent non-fiction books that slip through the cracks and go unnoticed. So here are 5 non-fiction books that I'd recommend!

Over the Top eBook: Van Ness, Jonathan: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store
Over The Top - Jonathan Van Ness

Jonathan Van Ness is my favourite member of the Fab Five from the hit television series, Queer Eye. I listened to the audiobook of this at the end of 2019 and it was by far one of my favourite books of the year. I really enjoy a memoir and this is really enlightening and motivational. And in his book, Jonathan Van Ness takes the reader on such an intimate journey through his life, I couldn't recommend this more for fans of Queer Eye, Celebrity Culture and/or memoirs.

In 'Becoming,' Michelle Obama Mostly Opts for Empowerment Over ...

Becoming - Michelle Obama

Whilst on memoirs, Becoming by Michelle Obama is another incredible, enlightening memoir that I got to listen to on audiobook back in 2019. Becoming tells the more intimate tales of Michelle Obama's life, from her childhood, meeting her husband, Barack and how their lives changed once Barack was appointed President of the United States. It was such an interesting read, from an incredibly motivational, powerful woman who takes pride in lifting others. I'd definitely recommend this for people who enjoy memoirs, politics and stories about families.

Atomic Habits 1-Book Package | Habit books, Self help books, Good ...
Atomic Habits - James Clear

Atomic Habits is an incredibly motivating self-help/self-improvement type book, focused on building good habits and sticking to them and becoming the best possible version of yourself. I read this book earlier in 2020 and it really gave me the motivation I needed to change a few things in my life - and I intend to give it a reread sometime soon to reaffirm those goals and set new ones. I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the self-improvement genre and/or wants to make changes in their own lives surrounding time management, habits and goal setting.

Thoughts on Shoe Dog : Memoir by the creator of Nike, Phil Knight ...

Shoe Dog - Phil Knight

Shoe Dog is a memoir from the creator of the Nike brand, and how he built the company by borrowing $50 from his father back in 1962 and manage to create the huge empire that Nike is today. This book is incredibly insightful, as growing such a huge company and internationally recognised brand is such a rarity and I think this book could be incredibly inspiring for people working towards their own entrepreneurial or personal goals.I'd recommend Shoe Dog to anyone interested in business and/or building a brand.

ERIK LARSON'S "THE SPLENDID AND THE VILE" IS HERE - Chartwell ...

The Splendid and the Vile - Erik Larson

The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family and Defiance During the Blitz is pretty much what it says on the tin! An incredibly interesting, factual account of Winston Churchill's days as Prime Minister of England during World War II and the actions he undertook to keep Britain from being invaded. As a history buff I really enjoyed hearing this story, it was really intricate and detailed, whilst at the same time it read a lot like a fiction book which kept me gripped the whole way through. I'd recommend this book to anyone interested in History, more specifically War History and British History.
